Introduction

You can control the alignment of Web pages in a browser window using the options in Layout Preferences. The options add attributes to the Table tags used by BeyondPress to approximate the layout of Web pages.

Click Preferences Prefbtn on the Document Content palette, then click Layout.

Use DHTML/CSS positioning to incorporate any combination of Style Sheets, JavaScript, Layering, Positioning, and Page Division, at the 4.0 browser level, intended to create movement or user interactivity.

Dynamic HTML (DHTML) allows for:

  • content. Text or graphics can be added, deleted, or modified on the fly. For example, a Web page can display an updated headline, without refreshing the page. The text surrounding the headline will reflow automatically.
  • styles. Internet Explorer 4.0 and Netscape Communicator fully support Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). As such, any CSS attribute, including color and font, can be updated without a server round-trip. For instance, text can change color or size when a mouse pointer passes over it. Multimedia filters and transition effects can be applied to HTML elements simply by adding the filter CSS attribute.
  • positioning. CSS positioning coordinates for existing page content can be updated at any time to create animated effects, without reloading the page.
  • For more information on Dynamic HTML and Cascading Style Sheets please refer to the Microsoft DHTML site.
