Editing and Using Master Styles

You can edit or delete the Master Styles that you create. You can also duplicate any Master Style.

1 Open Master Styles Preferences (click Preferences Prefbtn on the Document Content palette, then click Styles).

2 Edit the list of Master Styles:

* To edit or duplicate a selected Master Style, click Edit or Duplicate. Use the Edit Master Style dialog box to modify the style.

* To delete a selected Master Style, click Delete. If the deleted Master Style is used for a text element in the Content List, the text is mapped to Default.

3 Click OK to close BeyondPress Preferences and save changes.

Using Master Styles

You can map QuarkXPress style sheets to Master Styles in the Mapping Preferences dialog box. Using Master Styles lets you retain certain typographic characteristics (primarily font sizes) when your audience does not use a browser that supports Cascading Style Sheets and/or TrueDoc.

To override style sheet mapping, you can choose a Master Style from the HTML pop-up menu next to text elements on the Document Content palette.
