Formatting Text BeyondPress automatically converts much of your QuarkXPress text formatting. By enabling Cascading Style Sheets, the Font Face HTML tag, and Bitstream's TrueDoc font technology, you can use the text and paragraph formatting and fonts in your QuarkXPress document for your Web pages. Browser compatibility with Cascading Style Sheets, the Font Face HTML tag, and TrueDoc. * Explorer 3.0 and above, and Navigator 4.0 and above support Cascading Style Sheets. Users must have the designated fonts installed on their systems. * Both Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 and above, and Netscape Navigator 3.0 and above support the Font Face HTML tag. Users must have the designated fonts installed on their systems. * Navigator 4.0 supports TrueDoc. TrueDoc creates a separate Portable Font Resource file for each font. Users do not need specific fonts installed to view Web pages created with TrueDoc. BeyondPress automatically maintains paragraph alignments and bold, italic, superscript, and subscript styles. Special characters, including many in the Symbol font, are converted automatically. If you use style sheets, you can map them to HTML styles. Text formatted with a style sheet that is mapped to an HTML style exports with the appropriate tags applied. For more control over formatting, you can customize the list of HTML styles and override style sheet mapping. This is particularly useful if you're designing pages for an audience without a Cascading Style Sheet and/or TrueDoc supported browser. Automatic text formatting The following text attributes are converted automatically by BeyondPress: * Paragraph alignment * Bold and italic type styles (an Export Preference enables conversion of bold and italic fonts) * Superscript and subscript type styles * Many accented and special characters *Many characters in the Symbol font
