Creating a Content List

For a description of Document Content palette buttons and icons, see Document Content List Buttons and Document Content List Icons.

Creating a Content List

You have two options for creating a Content List. You can either have BeyondPress list the entire contents of a document automatically, or you can choose the items you want to export and add them to the Content List.

Listing Document Contents Automatically

If you want to export all or most of a document's content, have BeyondPress create the Content List for you. To do this, click List Document ListDoc on the Document Content palette. If there are a few items you don't want to export, you can delete them.

Choosing Items for Export

If your document contains text and images that won't be included in your Web pages, create the Content List manually. To do this, use the QuarkXPress Item tool to select multiple items in the order you want them to be listed. (Shift-click to select multiple items.) After selecting the items, click Add Items AddBxBtn on the Document Content palette.

Creating Separate Web pages

Whether you create the Content List automatically or manually, you can divide the contents into separate Web pages, which will be exported individually.

To create separate Web pages from a QuarkXPress document:

1 Click New Web PagePageBtn to create an "Untitled Web Page"

2 Rename the Untitled Web Page folder with the name you want for the HTML file. Click on the words "Untitled Web Page" to highlight the text, then type the new name.

3 Add contents to the Web page folder by:

* Dragging Text Chains TxtChain and Images ImageDC from the Content List into the new Web page, or

* Selecting the Web page folder WebPageDC in the list, selecting items in the QuarkXPress document for export, and clicking Add Items AddBxBtn on the Document Content palette.
